Masters, M.P., wired to The Postmaster-General (the Hon. J. G. Coatee} asking that the calling of tenders for the new Stratford Post Office be expedited. He has now received a reply from the Minister stating that the plans have been approved by the Postal Department and tenders will be called immediately. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., will leave by the mail train to-morrow morning, en route, for Rotorua, where he is to join the Parliamentary party which proposes visiting the East Coast districts. During the month of January the fifty-four cows which are being milked on the Stratford Model Dairy Farm gave 41,1351bs of milk, with an average test of 4.2. Mr. W. J. Crawshaw, who was manager of the Stratford branch of the Bank of New Zealand for many years, is to leave Wellington for England by the Port Nicholson, due to sail to-night.
