The banner competitions were resumed on the Stratford green yestereday, when the Stratford and Avon Clubs met. The match resulted in a win for the Stratford Club by 169 points to 114. During an interval in the games Mr. J. S. Lyons, president of the Stratford Club, welcomed the Avon players, and stated that it was the first occasion on which the two local clubs had met in a banner fixture. Mr. J. Masters, president of the Avon Club, replied and expressed the opinion that it was a splendid thing for bowling that two clubs existed In Stratford, and he hoped they would have many games together.
