GO-SLOW ON WHARVES.
TROUBLE AT WELLINGTON,
• *— ’ MEN NOT UNANIMOUS. ; By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The position on the Wellington waterfront is causing some concern. The situation appears to be developing slowly, and it is difficult to ascertain whether the watersidere are following the example set in Auckland by refusing all overtime. The men did not work overtime on several vessels in port, but on others no difficulty was experienced. It is reported that the watereiders will decline to work overtime on intercolonial and. overseas vessels. Work on the Moana was delayed, and some trouble was concerned with the bunkering of the vessel. .It was considered by the disputes committee, and the men accepted engagement as far as general cargo was concerned on receipt of a certificate as to the actual nature of the case of ness on the Moana. Wellington, Later. The watereidera are not united upon the decision to refrain from working after 5 o’clock at night. The men engaged on the colliers Kokiri and Karamu and one gang working on the Manuka declined to work overtime, but Home liners and several other boats were worked after 5 o’clock this evening.
