SEEKING A CHAMPION
WORLD’S BEST SCULLER. WHAT BARRY PROPOSES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright, Received Feb. 10, 8.10 p.m. London, Feb. 9. Barry, in a letter to the Daily Telegraph, says: “Arnst’s claim to the sculling championship by default does not concern me, but before he considers the world title again he should look to honors in his own country. There are several men in Australia who think they can beat him and persistently challenged him. I had a long innings and I think it best to retire as champion. That Arnst or anyone else should claim _the title in consequence will not be tolprateil by any section of sporting men,. I suggest that the championship decided in each country where sculling is encouraged, that is, in England, Canada, Australasia, and America, and champions then brought together. This would be a great boom in a great sport.”—Ans.N.Z. Cable Assn.
