LAND AGENT’S SMASH.

A LARGE SUM INVOLVED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At a meeting of creditors of William Allan Hopkins, a well-known land agent, held to-night, the following resolution was carried: “That Mr. W. A. Hopkins be asked to file a petition in bankruptcy, and in default of him doing so within seven days it is the wish of the meeting that creditors’ petitions be prosecuted against his estate.” Tne claims definitely stated at the meeting amounted to £45,717. One of the trustees stated the indebtedness was nearer £06,000.
