SUSPECTED BURGLARS.
ACCUSED REMANDED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Feb. 10. Two men, Walter Charles Heley and Albert Simpkin, were charged at the Magistrate’s Court this morning with having been found by night on the enclosed premises of George Fowlds, Ltd., and with having attempted to break and enter the premises with intent to commit a crime. On the application of the police they were remanded till Wed. nesday. The Nightwatchman, passing, heard unusual sounds and secured the assistance of two constables. A search revealed two men concealed behind cases. They came out in response to an invitation and explained that they were looking for a place to doss. It is understood that a couple of chisels were found, also that the door showed marks, but as it was bolted inside it had not yielded to the attempts at forcing it. A few weeks ago over a hundred pounds worth of goods were stolen from Fowlds’. There had also been other similar losses from neighboring business premises.
