REPATRIATION.
LESS WORK TO DO NOW. REDUCING DISTRICT COMMITTEES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Ministerial Repatriation Board has decided to reduce the membership of district boards throughout New Zealand, as there is now less work for these boards and local committees to perform. The Hon. D. H. Guthrie states that many members of the boards have offered to continue their work in an honorary capacity as long as their services are of value to the Governent, and the Ministerial Board will be glad to accept these offers. The local knowledge of members will continue to be o? great value in keeping the Department in togcli with returned men, securing repayment of loans, and so forth. Very valuable work has been done by the district boards throughout the period of repatriation effort, and the Ministerial Board, at its last meeting, decided to write to these bodies expressing the appreciation of the Government.
