Polo Championship—Second Round. —Canterbury B defeated Wellington; Wanganui defeated Auckland A. DOMINION ASSOCIATION. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Dunedin, La«t Night. The annual conference of delegates to the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held to-day, Mr W. E. D. Bishop in the chair. A proposal by the Auckland Centre that the junior and intermediate championships be separated from the New Zealand championship meeting was lost. A vote on the location of the iicxt New Zealand championship mating resulted in seven votes being cast for Wellington, seven for Napier, and three for Timaru. It was decided that the voting be reported to the council. A remit that the conference consider the question ,of obtaining a competent coach for New Zealand was referred to the council. The following remits were carried.— That championship nomination fees in future be 5/-; that a list of official water polo referees for New Zealand championship games be drawn up. one from this list to officiate each year at championship games, one referee to reside in each centre; that it be a recommendation to the council that the junior and intermediate championships ba held each year. LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE Dunedin, Last Night. The annual conference of the Royal Life-Saving Society was held to-day. Mr. Appei’sley (Hawke’s Bay) presided, and dealt with the work of previous conferences to the present time. Remits were dealt with regarding the appointment of a Dominion organiser in life-saving, and the appointment of surf guardsmen to patrol, various beaches during the bathing season. The conference also dealt with the annual Government grant of £250. The conditions governing the Nelson Shield surf competition were revised, but the revisions will not affect this year’s championships, but will take effect next year.
