DOMINION NEWS.

PATENT SLIP STRIKE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Niffht. Despite the efforts of Mr. JI. T. Bailey (Inspector of Awards) the deadlock at the Patent 'Slip .over the payment of “dirt” money continues. The boiler makers still decline to resume operations under the terms of the award, but Mr. Bailey is still working to secure a settlement. One proposal is that the disputes should be referred to the Arbitration Court in the form of an application for interpretation. CHARGE OF FORGERY. Palmerston N., Feb. 7. In the Police Court John Edward Sullivan pleaded guilty to having forged three cheques in the name of Coley Bros., his employers and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. JUSTICE FRAZER WELCOMED. Auckland, Feb. 7. Mr. Justice Frazer was welcomed at the opening of the Arbitration Court this morning. After remarks by representatives of employers, workers, Mr. Justice Stringer and Mr. Justice Cooper, Mr. Justice Frazer sa'd he was following several distinguished predecessors, and would do his best to keep harmony and industrial peace, not merely to arrive at a truce. Mr. McCombs, M.P., states that the Labor Party has definitely decided to raise the question of the. bonus before the Arbitration Court. Argument may be heard next week.
