Kalapoi, from Melbourne, this month. THE RARAWA. Tire Rarawa left Onehunga at 4.30 p.m. yesterday and should arrive here at 5.30 o’clock this morning with passengers and cargo. She will sail on the return trip at 8.20 p.m. KOWHAI ARRIVES. The Kowha’« arrived from Greymouth yesterday with a cargo of coal to discharge. After putting out her coal she will load the New Zealand Iron Ore Smelting Company’s plant, which she skips to Nelson. KUMARA TO SAIL. An endeavour will be made to complete the loading of the Kumara to-morrow, when she will sail for the Wanganui roadstead. THE NGATORO. The Ngatoro should finish discharging her cargo to-morrow and sail in the afternoon for Wellington. CORINNA TO-DAY. The Corknna is due here to-day from Onehunga with a quantity of Wellington cargo to discharge. She will take in a consignment of butter for transhipment to the Hororata at Wellington. THE FLORA. The Flora is due at Wellington to-day from Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. The vessel will leave Wellington to-morrow or Thursday for New Plymouth, CORINTHIC FROM HOME. According to a Press Association cable message the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's liner Corinthic has left Southampton for Wellington. THE NORTHUMBERLAND. The Federal Line advise that the steamer Northumberland, now discharging New York cargo at Auckland, will probably not reach Wellington until next Monday. THE MANUKA ARRIVES. The Manuka, from Sydney, arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon. The Manuka had 390 passengers on board. MATAKANA LAUNCHED. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have received advice that their new liner Matakana was launched at Belfast on December 13. This vessel is built on similar lines to the same company’s Maimoa and Tairoa. THE MAINDY LODGE. The cargo-steamer Maindy Lodge, with' a full load of coal from Newcastle, arrived at Wellington on Saturday night from New Plymouth, where she had not been able to secure a berth to put out her coal-cargo for the Government. The Maindy Lodge is named after the manor house at Maindy, a suburb distanced about four miles from Cardiff, Wales. 'She is a steel screw steamer of 2686 tons, built in HIM, and named orginally the Elmtree. Subsequently the vessel was sold to the Maindy Steamship Company, and renamed Maindy Lodge. She has’ her engines placed right aft, and her holds have large hatches for the quick handling of coal cargo. She excelled in this respect, having bunkered a battleship with 2500 tons of coal per day. The Maindy Lodge has five water ballast tanks that extend on her sides from her deck to her bottom and from a kind of double skin to her hull. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED.
