NO OVERTIME
LESS WORK ON WHARVES. DECISION AT AUCKLAND. By Taloffraph.— Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 5. The Auckland walersidcns have informed the shipping companies that they will refuse to work overtime after five o’clock on four week days, and after noon on Saturdays. This has presumably arisen out of the dissatisfaction with the bonus of a penny an hour granted. Consequently the Opawa’s departure for Tokomaru Bay is delayed from to-night until Tuesday. The Ta Anau, for south, is delayed till Monday. NO ACTION IN WELLINGTON. FUTURE MOVES UNCERTAIN. Wellington, Last Night. Considerable interest is manifested in the statement telegraphed from Auckland that the watersiders of the northern capital will refuse to work overtime aftei five o’clock on four weekdays and after noon on. Saturday. The watersiders in Wellington have not yet informed local employers of any intention to decline overtime. The settlement of the bonus has been left by individual unions to the Waterside Workers’ Federation, and it is not yet known whether the federation will confine irritation tactice to the northern centre.
