WEEK-END BURGLARY.
SUM OF £ll5 STOLEN. NEW PLYMOUTH PREMISES ENTERED. A robbery involving a considerable sum of money took place yesterday morning at the shooting gallery managed by Arthur J. Masters, in Devon Street, New Plymouth, the. burglar making a haul of about £ll5. The burglar entered some time between J. 30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. yesterday, access to the premises being obtained through a back window, reached from an alleyway off Brougham Street. The window had previously been broken, and was patched with cardboard, leaving an easy mark for the intruder, who cut thfe cardboard and reached the lock. The proprietor did not use a safe, the money being deposited in a box which was easily opened. The money did not present any difficulties either, being in notes, a few of which were twenty and ten pound notes, and the rest were singles.
The matter was promptly reported to the police, who are investigating.
