A DELUSION.
TRUTH OF BOLSHEVISM. A. LESSON TO SOCIALISTS. REVELATIONS OF FIUME. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. 4, 5.5 p.m. Rome, Feb. 3. Signor Giolitti, replying in the Home Affairs debate, defended the Government’s policy during the occupation of factories as teaching the proletariat the lesson .that they could not run the industries without capital. The Government, he said, had confiscated a large quantity of arms and ammunition in private possession in the disturbed areas, where the upholding ot the propagandist example of u r ssia greatly contributed to discontent. The European Governments, he declared, were all wrong in disallowing free intercourse with Russia. He regretted that Socialists had not been allowed to see for themselves what a delusion Russian Bolshevism was, for if they had . they would . have returned with saner ideas. Referring to the settlement of the Fiume position, he caused a sensation by stating that the Government found in Fiume thirteen shiploads and many trainloads of arms sent from Italy, indicating that civil war—perhaps another foreign war—was in course of preparation. —Aus. and N.Z.
