CASES AT OAMARU. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Oamaru, Last Night. The sittings of the Supreme Court were concluded to-day before Mr. Justice Sim. Alice Manley, a widow, pleaded not guilty to two charges of receiving stolen goods. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty on the first charge. The Crow t offered no evidence on the second charge, and instructed by His Honour, the jury brought in a similar verdict. An appeal by Eugene Barry, a laborer, against his conviction by a magistrate for the theft of three bottles of whisky was allowed, the judge stating that he was not satisfied by the circumstantial evidence offered. Louisa Manley, single, who pleaded guilty to breaking, entering and theft, was released on probation for four years, and she is not to enter any town within that period without the consent of the probation officer.
