La Mercedes, from Newcastle, next week. Kaiapol, from Melbourne, this month. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa is due to arrive from Onehunga at 5.30 o’clock this morning. She w’ll sail on the return trip at 8.20 p.m. KOWHAI WITH COAL. Advice has been received that the Kowhai will load coal at Westport to-day for New Plymouth. She is due here at the beginning of next week. KINI TO SAIL. It is expected to finish discharging the Klni’s coal cargo to-day, when the vessel •Will sail for Qreymouth. THE MANDY LODGE. The steamer Mandy Lodge, which was expected to arrive from Newcastle yesterday with a cargo of coal for the Government, had not put in an appearance at dusk last night. CORINNA NEXT WEEK. The Corinna left Wellington on Wednesday for New Plymouth, via Plcton and Onehunga. She is bringing a quantity of Wellington cargo for discharge and should arrive about Monday. CORINTHIC HOME. Tile S.S. and A. liner Corinthic was timed to leave Southampton on Wednesday for New Zealand. THE PORT MACQUARRIE. Cable news has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Macquarrle, car-go-laden from London, left Capetown on January 28 for Melbourne. Hobart, Sydney, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. The vessel is due at Auckland about March 14 and at Wellington about March 24. PORT NAPIER LEFT COLON. The C. and D. Line have received cable advice that the Port Napier left Colon on January 28 for Newport News and London, en route from Auckland. The vessel left Auckland on January 4. MARAMA FROM VANCOUVER. The Union Company advise that the R.M.S. Marama. is expected to arrive at Auckland to-day from Vancouver via Honolulu and Suva. « SUFFOLK LEFT NEWPORT NEWS. According to cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company the liner Suffolk left Newport News on January 20 for London, in continuation of her voyage from Wellington. SURREY LEFT COLON. The New Zealand Shipping Company have •been notified by cable that the Surrey left Colon on January 21 for London, en route from Wellington. WOODARRA LEFT COLON. Cable advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Steamer Woodarra left Colon on January 23, en route to Falmouth from Wellington, for orders. FIRE ON THE ANTIOPE. A telegram from Dunedin states that cable advice received by the Iron and Steel Company of New Zealand states that at the court of Inquiry held at Lorenzo Marqueze In connection with the fire on the barque Antitype, it was decided the fire was purely accidental and no blame was attachable to the captain or crew. The vessel was badly damaged. It has not yet been decided what steps will be taken towards putting her in commission again. THE C. AND D. LINE ACTIVITY. Since 1918 the Connm<nwealth and Dominion Line have gone ahead with a big building programme, which means a great acquisition for the New Zealand trade. The year 1918 saw the advent of the Port Denison, of 10,334 tons gross, which was followed by the Port Adelaide (8422), Port Bowen (8267 terns), Port Caroline (8265 tons), and Port Nicholson (8402 tons), all in 1919, and which are all turbine-driven vessels. Last year the steamer Port Kembla, of 8465 tons )gross, was added, while this year should see the Port Auckland, Port Campbell, Port Hardy, Port. Hunter, and two others, the names of which have not yet been decided upon, taking their places in the service, • These latter vessels are 480 ft long, and have a draught of 29ft B%in, with a gross tonnage of about 8400 and a deadweight carrying capacity of 12,000 tons.
