CONSTANTINE’S STATUS.
QUESTION OF AMERICAN RECOGNITION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. New York, Feb. 1. It is learned that before the State Department is able to recognise the Greek Government the United States desires to know exactly Constantine’s status. American recognition at the present t'ime would be extremely embarrassing to the Allies, since there are credits of 33 million dollars in the United States Treasury upon which Greece could draw if the Government recognised h’im— Aus.-N.Z.
