TWO BODIES FOUND. SEARCH FOR OTHERS CONTINUES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 31. The body of Marlow, cook of the Omaka, was recovered last evening on the Petone beach. Weekes, the engineer, had a wife and four children, and Marlow had a wife and three children. Tire Wairau’s people say that the Omaka had passed them when the gale sprang up and they never saw her again. The sea was the heaviest they had ever encountered, and they had an anxious time themselves. Wellington, Last Night. No further particulars regarding the Omaka disaster are to hand. A search is being made of the harbor for the bodies of the remainder of the ill-fated crew. , Inquests were opened to-day on the bodies of John T. Weekes (the engineer) and J. Marlow (the cook). The bodies were formally identified, and the inquests were adjourned. The name of the ship’s boy lost in the Omaka wreck is Cyril Thomson, aged 21, son of Mr. F. Thomson, Government grader at New Plymouth He began his seafaring career on the Amokura. Mr. Thomson left for Wellington yesterday. Thomson is the member of the crew whose surname was at first not [ known.
