PUBLIC TRUSTEE.
COL. CAMPBELL DECLINES. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. Colonel G. F. C. Campbell, Secretary to the Treasury, has been offered by the Government the post of Public Trustee, but he cannot (it is understood on high authority) see his way to accept the position. Interviewed as to who was 'to be the new Public Trustee, Mr. Massey stated that the matter had not yet been decided by Cabinet.
