AN INTERESTING EXPEDITION. Received Jan. 25, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 24. Mr Ralph Segnit. a South Australian studying a>t Bwlli-ol Oqlliege, secured honors in the final examination in geology, and was awarded the Burdett Coutts scholarship for two years in geology and science. Mr. Segnit has accepted an invitation to accompany the Oxford University’s expedition to Spitzbergen as assistant geologist. The expedition, which will be devoted to exploration in zoology, geology and botany, is the first of its kind arranged by Oxford. It will be composed of seventeen members, and the first batch is expected to leave in the middle of June, and the second batch six weeks later. Mr. Segnit will be among the first party.—Aus. and N.Z.
