DOMINION TOURNAMENT, SATURDAY’S PLAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ** Wellington, Jan. 22. The bowling tournament was resumed to-day in fine weather. The greens were a trifle heavy, owing to rain overnight. As a result of the play to-day the following are left in: Walker (Ponsonby), Potter (Wellington), Harraway (Dunedin), Dee (Maitai), Munro (Eastbourne), Jury (Karangahake), Sexton (Newtown), Brackenridjge (Newtown), Proctor (Victoria), Smith (Hataitai), Chegwin (Beckenham), Porteous (Wellington), Hutchison (Dunedin), Tyrell (Lyall Bay), Jackson (Canterbury), Beymon (Petone), Redpath (Canterbury), Foley (Thorndon). TARANAKI TOURNAMENT, PLAY OPENS TODAY. Fifty-six rinks have entered for the annual tournament (conducted by the Taranaki Bowling Centre), which opens at New Plymouth this morning at 9.30. This year a new departure has been made following the lines of the Dominion full rink tournament and instead of three games being decided each day during sectional play, two games will be played. All bowls must be displayed for test stamp inspection at 9 o’clock each day, and in no case may bowls be played until they have been so inspected. The index to skips and location of sections is as follows: Section A.—A. Smart, Moffatt, Abbott, Mason, Hicks, Harris, Boagey, Bradford. First day, New Plymouth green; second day, Fitzroy green; third day, West End No. 1; fourth day, Fitzroy.
