AMMUNITION AT REDUCED PRICES, PROGRESSIVE N.Z. INDUSTRY. For some years past all sportsmen have become aware of the increasing cost of cartridges, and therefore, they will be glad to learn that reductions have now been made in the prices of the famous C.A.C. ammunition. These dependable New Zealand-made i cartridges are now to be obtained from any dealer or storekeeper throughout the Dominion, at rates which represent a big saving when compared with the imported article. It is thirty-five years since The Colonial Ammunition Company’s factory was started in Auckland and in recent years great progress has been made. Over £15,000 worth of machinery has been lately installed, and the plant is now the latest in existence. Every facility exists at the C.A.C. works for producing cartridges that are absolutely sound, fresh, and reliable. The Company is entirely a New Zealand enterprise. The capital is New Zealand money, the shareholders are New Zealand residents, and the workers are New Zealanders. All the component parts of every C.A.C. cartridge are made by ifhe Company; the brass; copper for percussion caps; and the caps themselves; paper tube; the base wad or pellet—made from N.Z. paper; brass cup for base of cartridge; the cap chamber; anvils; shot; felt—made from N.Z. hair; felt wad; in short, everything except the actual explosive, which is the finest that can be imported. The popular sporting cartridges are the “Favourite” and “Nitro-Special”, both of which have a splendid reputation in New Zealand and Australia.
