CORRESPONDENCE.
DELAY TO CARGO. \ (To the Editor.) Sir, —It appears to me that the delay now caused to goods ex-breakwater to country stations could be greatly reduced if greater economy was exercised in the conservation of floor space in the New Plymouth goods shed, particularly in regard to big consignments of grain, etc. There are only two men employed in stacking goods ex truck, and both are liable to be called away at any time to perform other duties, one to attend to the crane in the goods yard and the other to attend to transhipments at the passenger station and occasionally to relieve shed storemen. If these, and, say, a couple of additional hands were constantly employed in stacking these lines advantageously, much more floor space would be available, and consequently goods would reach their destination much sooner than at present—l am, etc., “CX)MET.”
