RULES FOR EXAMINATIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. At the University Senate the following motions were passed: That the arts and commerce committee consider the report on the proposal to establish a diploma of commerce. That philology should be accorded ft distinct definite status in the university syllabus. That the entrance examinntiohs committee report on the desirability of abolishing the privilege of a partial pass at the matriculation, or, alternativelv, of extending its range by affording candidates who have gained such a pass an opportunity of completing at a special examination.
