STRATFORD.

A FARMER’S DEATH. January 21. An inquest was held at the Courthouse. Stratford, vesterday afternoon, by Mr. T. A. R. Bailey, S.M., district coroner, into the circumstances of the death of Alfred Zurcher, a farmer of Toko Road, who died at the Stratford hospital on Thursday morning from injuries received as the result of a premature explosion of a charge of gelignite on January 7. Sergeant Dale conuucted the investigations. Carl Anton Zurcher, brother of deceased, heard the report of an explosion, and hurried to the stump and found his brother lying on his back about a yard away from the. log, cov-ered-with blood. Witness’ theory was that deceased was pushing the detonator into the charge when it exploded. The coroner returned a verdict of acflidefitul daaih.
