UNIVERSITY SENATE.
DIPLOMA IN BANKING. DATES OF EXAMINATIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The University Senate decided to-day to grant a request of the Bank Officers’ Guild to establish a diploma in banking. The subjects were, generally, those of the bachelor of commerce degree. The Senate also approved of a recommendation that the medical course for the bachelor of medicine degree be ex-, tended from five to six years. It was decided that an intermediate examination be held not later than the first week in December in the first year of study; the first professional in Deecember of the third year of study; the second professional in December of the fourth year; the final examination to be held in two sections in December of the fifth and sixth years. The University degree examinations will begin not earlier than November 1 annually. The date for giving notice of intention to sit for examinations in November (at present September )) will be made August 1. and the date fur the December examinations will be October 1 instead of October 16.
