TOYS AND TURKEYS.
TREMENDOUS FLOOD OF GERMAN PRODUCTIONS. London, Nov. 20. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily News-states that although no figures are available, the number of toys now being exported from Germany is reaching a fantastic figure. The fact that no export duty is levied encourages the German toy manufacturer to cater almost exclusively for the foreign market. A special -boat laden with Christmas toys has just left Hamburg for London the cargo being carried including a large number of hobby horses and miniature motor-ears, valued at many millions of marks. Retail orders for toys daily reach the leading Berlin stores from America, Great Britain, Switzerland, and the. Bal. kans. At the present rate of exchange a. full-sized rocking horse costs here abut £3. French exporters have been officially informed that from December Ist to January 15th next dead tiirkeys and geese may be exported to England without previous authorisation being re-jLUu-ed.
