MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CIVIL SITTING. The first sitting of the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court for civil business in '921. was held yesterday, Mr. T. A. B. Bailey presiding. TENEMENT CASES. Decision -wa< given in favor of plaintiff in the case of Mabel N. Pike (Mr. • Hutchen) v. Bruce Joll, being claim for ■ £3l 2s rent, and also possession of ; dwelling, the order of possession to . operate, in fourteen days. The adjourned case, A. J. Rookes (Mr. Billing) v. W. J. Priar (Mr. Bennett), being a claim for possession, was continued. ■ It was contended for plaintiff that as - the land in connection with the house was used by defendant in his business he was excluded from the protection Linder the War Regulations Act, *>.s the property did not in such circumstances, come under the definition of a dwelling. . His Worship deferred decision. JUDGMENTS BY DEFAULT. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given as undfcr: —J. H. Cock and Co., Ltd. (Mr. H. R. Billing) v. A. J. L. May, £169 18s 2d, costs £8 8s 6d; Myra M. Rogers (Mr. Croker) v. Edward Hill, £4, costs £1 3s 6d; R. C. Hughes v. Rahui Murray, £2l 15s Bd, costs £3 6s; C. H. L. McKoy (Mr. Croker) v. James Dunlop, £3 8s Id, costs £1 3s 6d. In the judgment summons claim J. Greenaway (Mr. Bennett) v. Te Ano Komene, debtor was ordered to pay the amount of the claim, £l2 2s lOd, fortha with, in default eleven days’ imprison- ’ ment.
