DOMINION TOURNAMENT. . I By Talegranh.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Dominion Bowling Association’s rink championship contest was continued to-day under perfect conditions. Rounds in the post-section phase were decided, with the result that the number iof teams remaining in the competition was reduced from 42 to 33, the nine defeated rinks being Potter (Wellington), Ranson (Newtown), Chisholm (Hataitai), Redpath (Canterbury), Woolf (Christchurch), Kilgour (Carlton), King (Hastings), Gray (Kelbum). New South Wales team of bowlers who proposed sailing for New Zealand yesterday and abandoned the trip thrpugh. the strike, have undertaken: a tour of the south coast instead. THE AVON CLUB. Following are the results of the latest games in the Avon Club’s competitions: Champion singles: Curteis beat R. Masters; Morison beat Hardy Jones; Pettigrew beat Patrick ■ Handicap pairs: H. Masters and Patrick beat Pettigrew and Morison; Pinhey and Jackson, beat Sturm and Rowe; F. Weston and North beat R. H. White and Judd. Handicap singles: W. A. Betts beat Hardy Jones and J. Weston; Pepperell beat J. Weston. STRATFORD CLUB. For the colts championship, Cormack beat Finlay, 18 to 17, after a tie on the 21st head. Gray beat Hollands, 20 to 14., MANAIA v. OPUNAKE. On Wednesday, Manaia bowlers visited Opunake and played a thre’e-rink banner match. The visitors met with an easy victory winning by 31 points. The following are the details of the play, Manaia being mentioned first in each instance: E. Putt, Gee, Putt, J. Christie 24;. Trotter, Carter, Kirkwood, Burton 23. Smith, Innes, Andrews, H.
