Rounds in the post-section phase were decided, with the result that the number iof teams remaining in the competition was reduced from 42 to 33, the nine defeated rinks being Potter (Wellington), Ranson (Newtown), Chisholm (Hataitai), Redpath (Canterbury), Woolf (Christchurch), Kilgour (Carlton), King (Hastings), Gray (Kelbum). On Wednesday, Manaia bowlers visited Opunake and played a thre’e-rink banner match. The visitors met with an easy victory winning by 31 points.
