Some time ago the New Plymouth borough engineer was authorised to obtain the necessary timber for the construction of several groynes at the East End Beach. The sum of £621 has already been spent on -the temporary protection embankment, and in order to overcome the erosion further heavy expenditure will be necessary. In hij monthly report the borough general manager (Mr. F. T. Bellringer) points out that the beaches are of such importance to the town, that notwithstanding the shortage of labor and money, it would he very unwise to allow this reserve to be destroyed. The timber haa arrived and it is necessary for the council to decide whether the work should proceed. If ft is intended to go on, he says, the work should be completed before the winter storms, as otherwise the work already done may he destroyed. With the utmost confidence in your verdict we ask your careful investigation of the numerous special features of CLINCHER CROSS MOTOR CAR KXkes.
