CORFU FOR THE KAISER.
AN ATHENS PLAN. ALLEGED INVITATION FROM CONSTANTINE. y Paris, Nov. 22. There is a scheme afoot, it is said, to remove the ex-Kaiser from Amerongen to Corfu, where, as is known, he has a famous villa. It has not got very, very far, and the authors may be no one' in particular, but it is discussed here and the Allies are advised to be on the watch. Mr. Raymond Duncan, who lived for many years in Greece, and has friends in both camps has stated that a committee has been, as a fact, formed in Athens to further the project, and particularly to prepare the Villa Achillaeion, which during the war was used as a hospital, for the fallen monarch’s reception. Y “What more natural,” lie asks, “than that her friends —add she will have more than ever now—should remember that her brother is the ex-Kaiser, and that Doorn in the winter is a moist, unpleasant place compared with Corfu?” It is not seriously thought here that •William will be allowed to make Corfu his Elba. There are. by the way, only .two roads out of Holland to Greece or the Mediterranean. That by sea is probablv impracticable. The other would take him through Germany, and' there might be then more reason than ever to recall the consequences of Elba. LEGATION STATEMENT. Paris, Nov. 21. The Greek Legation denies that the ex-Kaiser would be allowed to take possession of the A-jhillaeion. Palace.
