The State Department has formally requested the Labour Department to deport O’Callaghan, Mayor of Cork, who arrived in New York as a stowaway. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. GERMAN JUSTICE. Berlin, Jan. 11. A curious decision was given by the Criminal Court, which quashed the sentence of 28 months’ imprisonment on Lieut. Vogel in connection with the murders of Herr Liebknecht and Rosa Luxembourg on the ground that a law was subsequently passed exempting those guilty of an offence committed for the purpose of preventing high treason.
