TOO MANY IMPORTS.
FLOW OF BRITISH GOODS. EMBARRASS SYDNEY MERCHANTS. By Telegraph-—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 13, 1.15 a.m. Sydney, Jan. 12. York street merchants are embarrassed at the celerity with which English manufacturers are filling Australian orders, which is without precedent since 1914, and has resulted in flooding the local market with goods purchased at high prices, preventing any reduction jn local prices until supplies are exhausted. This must also result in a cessation of further orders in England for an extended period.—‘Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
