GENERAL CABLES.

TO CLIMB MOUNT EVEREST. By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 11, 7.40 p.m. London, Jan. 11. The Alpine Club and the Royal Geographical Society are organising an attempt to climb Mount Everest with the assistance of the Tibetan Government, which has hitherto prevented a white man going within forty miles of the mountain's base. A reconnaissance party will be sent out in 1921 with an aeroplane to explore the approadies, map the ground, and make a photographic analysis of the mountain. The party will probably go to Tibet in 1922', —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
