TARANAKI COUNTY ROADS.

TAR SEALING OPERATIONS. COMMENCEMENT NEXT WEEK. In negard to tar sealing operations in the Taranaki County, the chairman (Mr. J. S. Connett) reported at yesterday’s meeting that everything seemed to be in fair working order for making a start next week. ‘They had had some difficulty in getting the plant completed, as some parts had been delayed through the Australian shipping service being disorganised. Mr. Connett said it was proposed to do the piece of road towards Bell Block first, and then possibly the roads which were prepared last year would be commenced, from the end of the road at Omata to Allan’s Hill and a portion of the Avenue Road. After this the plant would be put at Puniho. and a start made from that end. He did not think there would be a great deal of difficulty as regards labor, and with favorable’conditions that about ten miles of sealing might be completed this year.
