■PRODUCERS TO DISCUSS THE POSITION. The Prime Minister stated on Saturday that a. meeting of producers’ representatives. was shortly to be held with special reference to the disposal of wool. Communications were passing between the New Zealand Government and the Imperial Government with respect to this matter, and included Jn the correspondence were references to the scheme mooted in Australia for the realisation of Australian wool still in the hands of the Home authorities. To December 31 last the Imperial Government’s payments for New Zealand. wool and sheepskins totalled £63,483,458. The payments extended over a period of four years. The average price realised for greasy wool works out at 15d per pound, while the averages year by year were as follow:

1910-17 Per pound. 1917-18 14.92d, 1918-19 15.21d. 1919-20 15.35d.
