ARMED FORCES INCREASED. HINT OF GRAVE TROUBLE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received Jan. 9, 11.30 p.m. Perth, Jan. 9. Strikers and the Government held an abortive conference, the latter stating they were determined to adhere to the Arbitration Court. Mounted police are being brought into the city from the country, and arrange jpents are being made to swear in special constables. The strike leaders have warned the Government against a show of force, which will anger unionists. They the warning will be respected so as to prevent bloodshed Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
