ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNED IN A FOUNTAIN. Gislborne, Jan. 7. The infant son of Mr.. Thomas, manager of the Tokomaru Bay freezing Wdrks, was missed for a few moments and was found drowned in the basin of a fountain on the lawn. DEATH BY POISONING. Palmerston North, Jan. 7. At an inquest on the body of Duncan Fraser, of Bulls, medical evidence was given to the effect that d°ath was due to poisoning caused through taking a fatal quantity) of liniment. The coroner returned a verdict accordingly, adding that there was not sufficient evidence to show whether the poison was taken accidentally or otherwise.
