JAPAN URGES SMALLER NAVIES. ARRANGEMENT WITH POWERS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Tokio, Jan. 6. The Press continues to advocate an Anglo-American-Japanese arrangement under which disarmament can be effected. The Osaka Asahi advocates dissolution of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, which, it says, is arousing American suspicion, and then a frank discussion between the Japanese and the United States would be possrble. The Jiji Shimpo urges a 50 per cent reduction in the Japanese navy.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
00-OPERATION IN PACIFIC. FURTHER DENIAL GF REPORT. Washington, Jan. 6. Senators and officials declare that they never had intimation of any agreement for co-operation between the American and Canadian fleets in the Pacific such as outlined by the London Daily News.
