AN EFFICIENT INDUSTRY.
NEW PLYMOUTH SOFT GOODS CO. (Published by Arrangement.) The New Plymouth Soft Goods Manufacturing Company are advertising for girls to learn the trade. This affords an excellent opportunity for girls to learn to do work and at remunerative wages which will be of the utmost value to them in after life. The work is not confined to constantly making one set of garments, but covers the whole range of ladies’ clothing, particularly underwear, blouses, ladies’ dresses, children’s clothing, men’s and boys’ shirts, pyjamas, everything almost, excepting men’s suits, hats and hosiery, is made up; hemstitching is taught. Quite a number of former employees have been able, after the -skill and experience gained in the workroom, to commence business for themselves as dressmakers, and have met with a fair measure of success. Others who have married have found their knowledge of the work learned of the greatest use to them, and has helped them in some measure to solve the high cost of living. The workroom is spacious and new, well lighted and ventilated, and warmed in winter by a number of electric radiators. A dining and recreation room with a piano and reading matter is provided for the use of the employees during the lunch hour recess, and hot water is also provided.
