OVERSEA STEAMERS.
THREE DUE HERE SHORTLY. TWO TO TAKE PRODUCE. Three overseas steamers are due at New Plymouth shortly. The first arrival will be the Wangaratta, due on Tuesday, and. she will be followed by the West Mahwah and the Kumara. The Wangaratta (N.Z. Shipping Co.) arrived in Wellington this week from Australia, and she*’is coming to New Plymouth to load produce for England, taking a consignment from the Taranaki Farmers’ Meat Co., and also loading a quantity of produce which is to to be railed to New Plymouth from Messrs. Borthwick’s Waitara works. The allotment from New Plymouth comprises beef recently purchased by Vesteys. The cargo steamer West Mahwah, the fourth steamer to bring direct shipments from America to Taranaki, is due at ‘Wellington on Monday. The exact dat£ of her arrival at New Plymouth is uncertain, but advice received yesterday indicates that she will arrive after the Wangaratta had cleared this port. The West Mahwah has 5000 cases of benzine to land here The liner Kumara is due at New Plymoutji about the end of the present mon£h, or early in February, to load a shipment, of dairy produce for England. The vessel will take 20,000 boxes of butter and 7000 crates of cheese from th* Taranaki Producers’ works at Moturoa. As yet it is not definite whether the vessel will also take frozen meat from the port.
