All the mines at Kalgoorlie are closed owing to a shortage of firewood, caused by the wood cutters’ holiday, and they cannot now re-open until at least after lhe'*termination of the railway strike. The Government has appealed to citizens with motor cars to come to their assistance and organise official motor transport. The trader hall disputes committee decided, in addition to the points immediately 1:> -sired, to demand full payment for all jfeilway men locked out by the Government, and also payment for all railwaymen forced out of work through the obstinacy of the Government, and exclusion from the service by any persons taking places vacated by unionists—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
