Leach, who was killed in Auckland in a motor accident, was a well-known Stratford resident, having been in the employ of Messrs. Hannah ! and Co., Ltd. He was a member of the I local lire brigade. The figures for the quarter are as follows: Births 58 (52), deaths 22 (11), marriages 10 (14). Two Stratford young men, Messrs. Blair and Cameron, who were proceeding to New Plymouth on Saturday night per motor cycle, met with a “spill” when nearing town through a tyre blowing out, and were admitted to the New Plymouth hospital suffering from abrasions.
