FIRST SALE AT NAPIER. By Telegraph.—Press Association Napier, Last Night. The first wool sale of the season was held in Napier to-day. There was a representative attendance of buyers. Competition was keener than at previ-' ous Dominion sales, and prices advanced, particularly for superior wool suitable for America. Low grades and coarse wools lacked competition. Over 60 per cent of the offering was sold at auction. Following is the range of prices:—Half-bred 12d to 15|d, medium half-bred lOd to 12d, fine crossbred 10|d to J2|d, medium crossbred 9}d to 10£d, crossbred 3d to IOJd, low crossbred 4%d to Cd, half-bred pieces 7d to 10£d, pieces 3sd to 7£d, bellies 2%d to 4%d, backs ljd to 3d.
