ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PEOPLE’S. 7 LAST NIGHT OF “SEALED HEARTS” AND “GREAT GAMBLE” FINALE. To-night sees the final presentation of the fine Selznick production “Sealed Hearts,” featuring Eugene O’Brien, and the grand concluding episode of the sUper-serial, “The Great Gamble.” Included is a fine two-reel Christie special comedy, “Her Bridal Nightmare.” TOM MIX SUPER-ATTRACTION TO-MORROW. Tom Mix, the inimitable, is to be here again with new thrills, adventures, fun and romance in a Fox photoplay the rapid fire action of which is indicated in its title, “The Speed Maniac.” It is to open to-morrow at the People’s ,Theatre. The perpetual fascination of Mix, the intrepid daredevil of western drama— one real cowpuncher ot photoplay—ha*? set him in the mid-sky of stardom. “The Speed Maniac” is a story of western life, embodying, according to advance reports, a big auto race classic, a boxing match in which Mix champions the weak and baffles the wrong; some daring rides on the famous horse Tony, and other “stunts” that show Mix a pastmaster of his craft—which includes handling a charming love theme. How Mix manages to escape with his life in some of the stunts he does is a puzzle to many of his admirers; but they simply fail to comprehend the steadiness of his nerve and the brain work he applies to his feats.

EVERYBODY’S. “MITCH” LEWIS IN “NINE TENTHS OF THE LAW.” Mitchell Lewis is featured in this big story of the northern pine forests, “Nine Tenths of the Law.” His performance in “The Barrier” is still a lingering memory—it was one of the finest pieces of characterisation the screen has ever presented. Now in this present feature he bids fair to outdo his previous success. The role of Lefleau is similar to that of “Poleon”, and time and experience have left their mark, with the result that the portrayal of Leneau displays finer depths of feeling and a keener insight int« the nature of the French Canadian. No one need be afraid that “Nine Tenths of the Law” will not furnish full measure of enjoyment. Its, is so big tlfht it is bound to get over, and universally please. This picture shows at Everybody’s to-night and to-morrow, and there is an excellent supporting programme, including the fourth episqde of “The Vanishing Dagger.”
