THE WEEK’S TRAFFIC. REVENUE OF £555. The New Plymouth tramways have had a busy holiday period, the service running to full capacity. There was brisk business on Friday and on New Year’s Day, the returns eclipsing the previous year’s record. On New Year’s Eve 8427 passengers were carried, the revenue exceeding that on New Year’s Eve, 1919, by about £24. On New Year’s Day the total number of passengers was 9518, the sum of £lll being taken in cash fa res, an advance of £l4 on 1919. ur the week ending last night 47,866 passengers produced £655 j 7s fid. During this rush the whole of the tramway men worked with a will catering for the holiday-makers, and a good deal of credit is due to the staff for their splendid t-fforts.
