A BOLSHEVIK RUFFIAN.
PRICE PLACED ON HIS HEAD. By Telcgraiih.—l'ress Assn Copyright. London, Dec. 28. The bloodstained career of the Bolshevist arch criminal Lientenyi, ex-president of the Soviet at Tsaritsyn, formerly the terror of the Lower Volga, for whose head the Soviet is offering . 10,000,000 roubles, is related in a Bolshevist official order in the Pravda. Lientenyi is said to have massacred 1500 persons, half of whom were women and children, during the past three months. After he was expelled from Tsaritsyn he, with a band of Kalmucks, seized a river steamer, proclaimed himself ruler of Astrakhan, ravaged villages and slaughtered the inhabitants. For example, in October lie killed all the men in a village and carried off the women, who were kept on the steamer for three days. He then cut their throats and their bodies were thrown into the river.
Lientenyi and his fellow ruffians late in November burned the steamer and started for the Caucasus with huge booty.—Reuter.
