PERSONAL.
The Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) leaves in February for America and Europe on furlough. He will be accompanied by Lady Stout,
Mr, Robert Ormsby, an old resident of the King Country, whose death is reported, was OS years cf age. The deceased was educated at Dublin University and was one of the first schoolteachers in the King Country.
It is reported that Mr. Justice Stringer will probably be assigned to the Auckland judicial 'district. There is no foundation for the report that Sir Kobert Stout intends resigning the Chief Justiceship. He has been granted twelve months' leave, and he sails for America in February and goes on to England.
Sir Thomas Mackenzie has not yet decided whether he will remain in New Zealand or return to England or America. When in the United States Sir Thomas was offered an important position there. The Oamaru Mail, however, understands that he has accepted a seat on the Board of Directors of the National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd., the sittings of which are held in London.
