A quiet but very pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of the bride- j groom's parent*, Urenui, on the CJth itist,, when Alfred Charles, elder son of 1 Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, wis married to Chryss Sjwod, third daughter of the late Mr. McAdam and Mrs. McAdani. Motherwell, Scotland, by Mr. H. A. Gould. The bride was attended by Miss Healy, New Plymouth, and Miss G. Smith, cousin and sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaids. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. R. Smith, as best man. Later the happy couple left for their new home amidst showem of confetti and rose leaves.
