POLL IN SCOTLAND. MANY LICENSES CANCELLED. RESULT OF LOCAL OPTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received Dec. 23, !).50 p.m. London, Dec. 23. The completion of the local option polling in Scotland, which began in November, shows that the vote was taken in 572 areas out of 1214 into which the country is divided. Of 1,153,978 votes registered, sixty per cent voted for no change, thirty-eight per cent for no license, and two per cent for a reduction of licenses. The net result is that 447 licenses, of which ninety-nine are in Glasgow, will be cancelled, out of 9571 in the whole coun-try.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
