NO COMBINATION AGAINST AMERICA. By Telegraph.—Fress A™ —Copyright. London, Dec. 20. Lord Northcliffe, replying to the American Secretary ol' the' Navy, reiterates the impossibility of any naval combination against America. He says Britain would welcome any action by the League of Nations, or other association of of nations, with America forming a buttress against evil. Ho urges the sense-' lessnesn of competitive naval building, particularly now, when the best minds are at variance as regards future sea fighting. Lord Northcliffe adds that he intends to continue to investigate the question of big £hips or small until he ascertains the best protection for our commerce, which now, and in the future, will be the sole object of Britain's navy.
